Important Information:

• Shedding: Plush shaggy rugs will shed fibres, which is completely normal and no detriment to the rug. All high-pile rugs will be subject to pile flattening over time. This is not considered a manufacturing fault, and none of our manufacturers cover this under warranty. A plush high-pile rug (4cm and above) will flatten and matt the most.

• Sprouting/Pilling: Almost all of our shaggy rug collections are subject to flattening/matting, including Montana, Polar, Sierra 9000, Extravagance, Plush, and Barnaby. These shaggy rugs, due to their construction, are prone to sprouting or pilling, where some strands appear longer than the rest. If this happens, simply trim the longer strands with sharp scissors. Do not pull these threads, as it can damage the rug. Sprouting/pilling is common on high-pile rugs and is not a manufacturing fault.

• Handmade Characteristics: Each handmade rug is unique, with imperfections known as 'Abrash.' These include natural variations in colour, design, size, pattern, yarn, stitching, and texture. Loose stray fibres can simply be cut with scissors. Avoid pulling fibres, as this can damage the weave. Synthetic latex backing may cause a temporary chemical smell in new rugs, which fades over time.

If you prefer uniformity and perfection, consider machine-made rugs with synthetic materials for a consistent look. Please note that even if you exchange a rug, the replacement will have its own distinct imperfections and characteristics.
