This rug is made from incredibly soft whispy acrylic yarn ( almost a faux fur feel)  with a soft cotton backing. For high-traffic areas, we would recommend a polypropylene rug with a hessian backing as a better alternative as it is more robust than the delicate acrylic material, For example, our Scandi-Boho collection. This rug is manufactured using a cut & loop method, some loops (thread balls) may remain & can simply be cut with scissors if required. Given the design's deliberate imitation of handmade Berber rug patterns, the pattern intentionally lacks perfection, and some shedding is to be expected. When you stand on Moroccan rugs, they don't provide the same underfoot support as polypropylene rugs. The delicate, fine yarn has an almost faux fur feel, so you might feel the rug's backing when you apply your weight to it.
