Our handwoven jute rugs are made using traditional techniques, making each one-of-a-kind with slight imperfections known as 'Abrash'—natural variations in colour, design, size, pattern, yarn, stitching, and texture. These unique characteristics, including loose threads, mixed colour yarns, and natural fibre loss, contribute to the rug’s authenticity.

• Loose fibres can be trimmed with scissors. Avoid pulling them, as it may damage the weave.
• Shedding is normal in all wool rugs and is not a manufacturing fault. Some rugs may shed for their entire lifetime, but this does not affect their durability.
• New rugs with synthetic latex backing may have a temporary chemical smell, which will fade over time.
• Wool rugs may have a natural, musty scent due to their animal fibre composition.

If you prefer a uniform and consistent look, consider a machine-made rug with synthetic materials instead. Please note that exchanged rugs will have their own distinct imperfections and characteristics, as no two handmade rugs are exactly alike.
